Hertz

Working with Hertz's EV product team to improve internal collaboration, I researched their needs and developed a toolkit library to streamline collaboration processes.

Problem

Hertz's EV product team struggled to translate research data into actionable insights and share findings with stakeholders.

Outcome

I improved the product's team collaboration by building a toolkit library for research outputs based on the team's needs.

Project goal

Due to overwhelming amounts of research outputs from past user research, Hertz's EV team wanted to improve how research outputs are built and shared so PMs can make informed product decisions.

Pain points

Through user interviews with product team members, we uncovered a wide array of pain points.

We decided to focus on two current challenges:

  • The research team's ability to translate data into final outputs

  • The challenge of PMs digesting that output into something actionable

A Research toolkit library

A simple solution that was fitting to our timeline constraint was creating a Miro board with toolkits for different research activities and artifacts.

A product team can just copy a relevant toolkit into their project board and use the help of their researcher to fill it with existing data or collect it with a fitting method.

Ease of read and use

To allow for an easy read and use, I recorded onboarding Loom videos for each toolkit to explain and show how to use it.

Handoff and feedback

Once the toolkits were done, I shared the library with the product team to collect feedback for future improvements.

The library is now being used by the EV product team to ease their collaboration processes.

"In summary, my comments were about how much I liked the modularity…this will help us contextualize the roles and tasks even better.

It's a great piece of work!"
